I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
